What customers say?

“ A good selection of food and drinks available, but no burgers. Happy my money goes to a good cause. Prices are very reasonable: my chicken strips with fries and bag of popcorn $12.69 (taxes included). It's a treat to have fresh Popcorn while enjoying the fresh air and beach ambiance. Wonderful! On a clear day there's an amazing view of Mount Baker. Water and beach are safe. There is lots of green space, playground, plus public washrooms/change rooms available. Parking can be at a premium so be aware of that, especially when the weather is nice. The transit bus #2 Willows Beach by Oak Bay runs about every 30-40. A beauty spot! ”

“ Very cute place to visit for light snacks...and the tea. Family friendly spot. Run by the local Kiwanis Club. ”

- Bruce Murray -

“ High quality, home-cooked hot food, sandwiches, and snacks, at affordable prices - not like these out of control cafés charging 18 bucks for a slice of Walmart ham on the cheapest bread they can find. The food is nourishing, filling, and tasty, while the little grandmas volunteering are always so polite and cheerful. What a nice treat to stop by at the beach. I hope they never change. ”

- Joe Kielley -

“ I fly in from Calgary once-twice a year, and this beach stop spot is one of my favorite reasons. Beach snacks are life and supporting students working for cash is always a priority ”

- Scott Gallant -

“ They're back. The ultimate retro beach concession/cafe straight out of the 50s. It's a non profit and has volunteers and students running it. Limited menu, but the nostalgia can't be duplicated. Not many of these left. Classic diner setup. Hope they have another 50 years ”

- Brian Green -

“ I adore this wonderful little tea room, but it is evidently open only May through September. Google Maps shows it as open right now and “busier than usual” (Oct 6), which it is not. I found a 2020 online article that says they’re open on fall Sundays, but I don’t know if that is still the case now in 2021. Signage on the tea room says only “Closed for the season”. I couldn’t find anything on the designated website that provides any information on all this. It would be nice if the tea room provided these details in a way we could easily find. ”

- Julia Milton -

“ Now open Sunday's from 9am-12 for breakfast. Amazing value, friendly Kiwanis and volunteer run, in this quaint seaside cafe. ”

- Jeannie Burns -

“ It is a nice, clean , and peaceful place. Ideal for families , you can also make a BBQ if you bring your own small things. ”
